Teaching Plan
Today, accessories make fashion. Shoes, jewerly, handbags and hats are the icons of style and taste, symbols of distinction and identity but also witnesses of the made in Italy quality. For this reason themajor fashion brands always give more importance to accessories in its multiple interpretations requiring dedicated professionals. Accessories also intersect with the high-tech performance materials.
The Specializing Master in Accessory Design is designed, in accordance with the spirit and tradition of the Politecnico di Milano, to join hands and mind, experimentation and tradition, technology and craftsmanship, prototype and manufacturing.
The Specializing Master is held in English.
Goal.
The Specializing Master provides the methodological tools and the design skills to become accessory designer, with professional application ranging from fashion to product and combining superior craftsmanship with high technology.
Job opportunities.
Students who complete the Master will be able to design accessories for both the quality craftsmanship that in the high technology.
Issued Certification.
At the end of the programme, once the final examination has been passed, the 1st level Specializing Master “Accessory design” diploma will be issued.
Attendance is mandatory for at least 75% of the programme activities.
Didactics.
The Master will be delivered in
English.
The Master has a duration of one year. The launch is scheduled for
November 2019.There are several thematic areas developed in project workshops with designers and international professionals. It is a unique perspective on the world of accessories that can provide employment opportunities in heterogeneous fields.

The teaching programme will be organised as follows:
- Accessory & Luxury: culture, history, trends and market;
- Accessory Modelling: Rhino;
- Accessory Graphics and Representation;
- Workshop: hat design;
- Workshop: eyewear design;
- Workshop: watch design;
- Workshop: jewellery design;
- Workshop: handbag design;
- Workshop: leather design;
- Workshop: luggage;
- Workshop: shoes design;
- Workshop: sportswear;
- Workshop: knitwear design;
- Workshop: presentation and portfolio;
- Internship;
- Final Thesis.
Attendance is mandatory for at least 75% of the programme activities.There will be intermediate tests and a final examination. The final examination will consist in a public discussion of the design concept developed during the project work phase and aims to ascertain students' analytical and design skills. Internship
At the end of the Specializing Master,
students perform an internship (lasting 400 hours) at a company or a design studio. This activity is an essential part of the training process, because it enables students to put what they have learned into practice within the context

Admission.
Admission requirements:
The Specializing Master is reserved to candidates with a
university Diploma or a Bachelor or a Master of Science in Engineering, Architecture, Design, humanities and scientific disciplines. As for candidates who graduated abroad, equivalent study titles in their respective educational institutions will be considered. The Specializing Master Course Committee will select the students to be admitted.
Applications can be accepted in chronological order but just until all the available places in classroom are sold out.
The number of admitted students is 25.
